“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.

Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”

Carl Jung

1875-1961

Fundamentally, we are salient beings living in a world that is in desperate need of our favorable intervention and insight. The human condition is reaching for enlightenment and searching for peace but doesn’t know where to find it. In the silence of your heart, the quiet moments where we can listen for clues is a good place to start. There is a power greater than imagined and a love more significant than we can comprehend, and it lives in you.

Today’s battle, as it has been for centuries, is against the establishment figureheads and deleterious brutes hiding in the shadows, who crave absolute power and dominance over humanity. Why? Because we are made in God’s image and loved by Him beyond measure. Make no mistake, this is a spiritual battle.

As connected as we are, we seem to be detached from ourselves and each other. Our split second access to worldwide information has proven to be the proverbial double-edged sword, bestowing blessings and curses. With the introduction of the “smartphones”, there is barely any room to be in a quiet space or have intimate conversations with loved ones. There is an alarming decrease in human interaction further leaving people isolated in ways we never thought possible.

At restaurants, in shopping malls and even at home, the devices dominate with the screen, in hand, at the ready. One can’t help but wonder what is it exactly that we are all searching for on our phones? The options are many but the rewards are few. Don’t get me wrong, I wholly believe that our access to information is nothing short of a miracle, but at what cost? The list of enhanced access is nearly inexhaustible yet we have to ask ourselves when is enough enough? For an unsuspecting and complacent population in search of meaning, the internet can be a vast desert of insignificant disturbance leading fragile minds into turmoil.

To witness so many couples, young families and groups of friends in public, sitting together, with their heads bowed, each in quiet desperation, searching for something or someone else to engage with, is truly a heartbreaking experience. It has become so commonplace that most of us don’t even realize that we are being led into many, unsustainable areas of information that can only bring a sense of isolation, helplessness, anxiety and frustration.

It is well known that there is so much in life that we have absolutely no control over and the internet of things enhances this sentiment exponentially. We see injustice, war, hatred, conflict…et al, used as weapons to invade our sense of serenity and well being. There are countless, abominable articles/videos enhancing our vulnerability causing apprehension and mistrust toward one another. The insidious nature and ultimate goal of sensationalized destruction, for all to see, polarizes and destabilizes relational connections.

Someday, perhaps there will be a support group, akin to AA, to assist people to properly use the abundance of information at our fingertips without getting sucked into the barrage of negative, destructive forces looking to suppress our enlightened spirit.

More recently, the torrent of advertisements, most especially drug ads, is particularly unsettling. It’s stunning how there is an incessant push for pharmaceuticals. What’s equally amazing is the peculiar names they give to these “medicines”. Where do they come up with these aberrant monikers?

It’s time for some push back, for us to refuse to buy what they are selling. As a force for good, we must resolve to come together and bring grace and love to a world in despair and be the Light. We can no longer rely on outside forces to bring peace because it has become painfully obvious that is not the intent. Chaos and confusion is their only goal and this must be obliterated at every turn.

In a world where distractions rule the day, perseverance is required to overcome the noise and become Self-centered. By finding time to tune out the world and tune into our greater consciousness, we will find the answers we seek. Without question, there is a small whisper of a voice, emanating from deep within our soul, that can only be heard in silence. It speaks of endless possibilities and flawless direction. Forgiveness, kindness and most importantly shared love for all of humanity.

As the voice once conveyed to me quite clearly, so I say to you…”find the good and be part of it.”
